About the Artist
I am a 24-year old, self-taught digital artist, based in Kolkata, who loves to merge Indian traditional art forms with modern techniques. With four years of experience, I have worked with several brands and restaurants all over India, launched merchandises and conducted several workshops, incorporating the values and aesthetics of traditional arts into products and lives.
What is WARLI art?
- Warli painting is a traditional tribal art form originating from the Warli tribe of Maharashtra, India.
- Characterized by its simplicity, it employs basic geometric shapes like circles, triangles, and squares to depict scenes from daily life, nature, and rituals.
- The paintings are typically created using a white pigment made from rice paste on mud walls, often during special occasions such as weddings and harvests.
- This art form reflects the deep connection between the Warli people and their environment, emphasizing themes of harmony and community.
- Over time, Warli painting has evolved from wall murals to artworks on paper, cloth, and other mediums, gaining recognition both nationally and internationally.
- We invite you to immerse yourself in this rich cultural experience by attending our Warli Painting Workshop.
